About

I'm in the Archaeology section of the School of Arts, Histories and Cultures at Manchester University.  I work principally on the Neolithic period in Britain, and on the theory and philosophy of archaeology.  I'm interested in phenomenological approaches to the material world, the relationship between archaeology and anthropology, landscape and architecture, personhood and identity, and the place of archaeology in modernity.  I'm currently working on the Mesolithic-Neolithic transition in Britain, and aspects of the Stonehenge landscape.

With colleagues from several other universities, I've been involved in the Stonehenge Riverside Project.  I'm also just beginning to do some fieldwork in Herefordshire.
