About

My PhD thesis examines phonetic and phonological variation in the repertoire of Welsh-English bilinguals in North Wales. It asks whether speakers tend to produce features in the same way in both languages, and whether mode of acquisition and/or location influence how speakers manage the two langauges.

Previously, I have concentrated on language and identity in the German-speaking countries, and diglossia in German-speaking Switzerland. As a teaching assistant I have worked on Discourse Analysis, English Dialects, and Societal Multilingualism.

I am also interested in language policy and planning, widening participation in H.E., and public engagement.
